The Association of Real Estate Professionals™ exists to promote professionalism, integrity, and accountability across the real estate industry. These Standards & Ethics outline the expectations for all members.
The Standards & Ethics of the Association of Real Estate Professionals™ are designed to establish clear expectations for professional conduct across all real estate-related roles.
These standards are not intended to replace licensing laws, regulations, or employer policies. Instead, they serve as a shared professional framework that members voluntarily agree to uphold.
Members shall conduct business with honesty, transparency, and fairness. Misrepresentation, deceptive practices, or knowingly providing false information is inconsistent with Association standards.
Members shall respect the interests of consumers and clients, safeguard confidential information, and avoid conduct that could cause harm through negligence or misuse of information.
Members are expected to provide services competently, honor commitments, and take responsibility for their actions. Errors or omissions should be addressed promptly and professionally.
Members shall treat colleagues, consumers, and the public with professionalism and respect. Harassment, discrimination, or abusive conduct is inconsistent with Association values.
Members are responsible for understanding and complying with all applicable laws, licensing requirements, and regulations governing their professional activities.
Members may use Association designations, including REPro™, only while in good standing and in accordance with Association guidelines.
The Association of Real Estate Professionals™ reserves the right to review alleged violations of these standards. Enforcement actions may include warnings, suspension, or revocation of membership.
Enforcement is intended to protect the integrity of the Association and its members, not to replace regulatory or legal processes.
All members are required to complete the Mandatory Member Orientation as a condition of membership. The orientation reinforces these standards and explains how they apply across different real estate roles.
Completion of orientation is required to maintain active membership status and eligibility to use Association designations.
